Love Turnpike, they’re such a great band and it’s great following their career. I first saw them 12 years ago playing a free festival in the DFW burbs and then last year saw them headline a sold out show at the Paycom Center in OKC.
Bonus favorite line from Long Drive Home:
Oh and lovers they march by/but they ain't like you and I
Oh cool! I was there for the Saturday show. I just mostly remember how cold it was and how glad I was that we stayed at the hotel right by Paycom. Yeah, those two plus Charles Wesley Godwin (who I wish got more time) was such a great lineup. I saw a few people on the Isbell reddit complaining he was the middle act. I love Jason Isbell and in probably every state other than Oklahoma, and maybe Texas, he’d be the headliner. But that was a Turnpike crowd.
I consider The Bird Hunters to be literature. One of our greatest living songwriters, for sure.
Thank you so much for reading and responding! Bird Hunters... So good!

They all wanna be Hank Williams/
they don't wanna have to die
I (Kody) was at one of those Paycom shows too. Seeing Isbell and the Troubadours together was amazing. Thank you for reading and responding!

Agreed! The hometown band deserved that stage. They're the "King of Oklahoma"
They are great. Have tickets to see them at the Outlaw Music Festival this summer with Willie and Dylan
Wow, that sounds fun!
For sure. Red Clay Strays as well.
Seeing the Troubadours in Chicago with you (Kody) is one of my favorite concert memories. Love them!
Such a great show! My first time seeing them. There's nothing like that first time. And seeing them with you made it even better!
